Grade a forum topic using a rubric

- 1 Due to inconsistent results and grading, please note that we are not currently recommending using Rubrics with Forums until we do a full Sakai upgrade (likely Summer 2021)
- 1.1 Go to Forums
- 1.2 Select topic you want to grade
- 1.3 Select the title of the student's post to be graded
- 1.4 Select the Grade button in the student post
- 1.5 Scroll to the bottom of the window
- 1.6 Select the appropriate rating level for each criterion
- 1.7 (Optional) If you allowed individual score adjustments, you may fine tune the rating points if needed. Please note that only whole numbers should be used (avoid a grade of 4.5 for example)
- 1.8 (Optional) Select the Comment icon [Leave a comment for the student about this criterion] if you would like to include additional feedback
- 1.9 Select Submit Grade when finished grading this post

Go to Forums
Select the Forums tool from the tool menu of your site.
Select topic you want to grade
Select the title of the student's post to be graded
Select the Grade button in the student post
Scroll to the bottom of the window
The rubric will appear at the bottom of the modal window, just below the Comments field.
Select the appropriate rating level for each criterion
The points will be added up automatically based on your rating selections. The total points earned will appear in the Grade field below the rubric.
(Optional) If you allowed individual score adjustments, you may fine tune the rating points if needed. Please note that only whole numbers should be used (avoid a grade of 4.5 for example)
(Optional) Select the Comment icon [Leave a comment for the student about this criterion] if you would like to include additional feedback
Enter your comments into the text field provided, and select Done when finished.
Note: The Comments icon changes color when there are comments saved.
